Powered by Eclipse, Reading Cloud for 6th form and colleges provides students with a dynamic online library platform to centre their research and learning on.
Encourage independent learning
During this phase of education it’s important that students are encouraged to learn independently to support their studies. Reading Cloud provides a large platform for students to actively search library books and resources based on keywords relevant to their subject of study to engage them in independent research.
Inspire further reading
Reading around a subject can help students advance their education by offering different views, opinions and interpretations of their academic subject. ‘Who Else Writes Like…’ is a feature in Reading Cloud that encourages this, by suggesting similar books to the one the student is currently browsing. Additionally a built in tool recommends titles based on their loan history that are available in the library. Students can also make requests for the books to be purchased, helping librarians manage popularity of books or offer a wider range of books around a certain subject.
Support student coursework
Coursework is an important part of a student’s learning in this phase of education. Reading Cloud can support a student’s coursework with access to a full bibliographic data set, enriching their research experience as well as providing references to validate their course work.
An innovative and engaging library management system, encouraging and facilitating independent learning. It’s easily transformed with your own college information to suit your own students’ requirements. It’s interactive and engaging; allowing students to be independent, but with contact to Learning Resources staff if required.
